PEOPLES BANK
The 2007-2008 PEP year at Peoples Bank is going to be fast and furious. Wonderful things will be happening throughout the year, so everyone should buckle their seat belts and hold on tight and get ready for what is in store.
Peoples Bank wants everyone to know about all the new things being offered inside the bank and what is going on in the community. Being able to provide better services to our customers is a goal Peoples Bank races towards. What is important to the customers is important to the bank. Everyone has different needs in their personal banking, so Peoples Bank strives to offer the right accounts for those needs. One new account that the bank has started is called Interest Reward Checking. This account will show customers that the bank is planning, researching, and determining what is best for them and the bank.
Being able to provide our services to the community plays a beneficial part to us at the bank. One highlight that is offered from the bank is Very Important to Peoples (aka VItoP). This program lets customers and people of the community travel to places they have dreamed of or wished thay could go but never could. The trips range from day/night trips such as the Dixie Theater, featuring the Drifters and the Coasters, the Lion King at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN, or an adventurous seven day Hawaiian cruise. Something new that has begun with VItoP is educational classes for the community and for bank customers. A demonstration on how to use a digital camera and print your pictures, an AARP Driving Program class, and a Financial Crash Course for Women are just some of the new ways Peoples Bank is reaching out to everyone.
Relay for Life and the American Heart Association are two programs the employees and the bank sponsor and play an active role in every year. This year homemade ice cream and barbequed meat were sold and donations were collected to help these two important fundraisers. The bank keeps up with the ones who are active in the military by writing cards to show how much we appreciate their hard work. To the families of deceased loved ones who are customers or Wayne County citizens, Gideon Bibles are sent to show are sympathy. Also, Peoples Bank wants to play a big part in the lives of our youth. By providing School Bank every morning to the high school students during the school year lets them know we are there to help them. By participating in the National Teach Children to Save Day we let the younger generation know how important it is to save their money. This also gives them an opportunity to know about our $1/A and $10 for perfect attendance for their savings accounts for each grading period. The bank also participates in the Read Across America Day held at each elementary school during the year. This allows a bank employee to go and read to an individual class throughout the schools. The bank encourages the youth to read as much as they can. To help them along, Peoples Bank joined up with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. Starting at birth until the age of 5, all Wayne County kids who signed up will receive a book each month in the mail. Even though we cannot be at the Wayne County schools all the time during the school year, the bank encourages teachers to bring their classes to visit us for bank tours. This gives the students and teachers an opportunity to see how a bank works and what really happens to their money.
Peoples Bank employees continue to provide their services by playing roles in leadership clubs or organizations. Employees are members of Lion’s Club, Collinwood Beautification Board, Rotary Club, Civitan Club, No Child Left Behind Board, Youth Exchange Director of Tennessee, Parks & Recreation Board, Wayne County Literacy Council (advisory board to the GED Program), Technology Center Advisory Board, South Central Work Force Development, Waynesboro Retail Merchant Association,, and the Wayne County Health Council and the Wayne County Historical Society.
With new happenings in the community and throughout the bank, Peoples Bank will continue to race for the success we want to bestow on our customers and the citizens of Wayne County.
We at Peoples Bank are striving to help the adults of the future to become financially savvy! We believe that the time and money that we spend on the programs described above are long-term investments in the lives of our future citizens. The more they can learn about how to take care of money, the more our community will benefit!
If you need more information or have any questions, feel free to call.
Respectfully,
Tonya Gallian , PEP Coordinator
