THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT PEOPLES BANK VITOP TRIPS:

  • You do not have to bank with Peoples Bank to enjoy the trips. There is a small guest fee, usually $5 per day. Members are 50+ and maintain a minimum balance of $2,000 in any checking, savings, Certificate of Deposit or IRA.
  • VItoP members are covered with $100,000 Common Carrier Insurance per account.
  • Trip Cancellation & Interruption Insurance is included on all overnight trips.
  • Gift certificates are available at all Peoples Bank locations.
  • MasterCard, Visa, Discover & American Express may be used for payment for any Peoples Bank trip.
  • Catherine Ross is the Peoples Bank VItoP Club Director and welcomes your calls and questions at 931-676-3311 (morning hours), toll-free at 877-656-3311, or 931-676-3488 (evening hours).

FYI - Membership in the VItoP Club is open to all those 55+, who maintain a $2000 balance in any type of Peoples Bank account, such as checking, savings, certificate of deposit, or IRA. It is free to join and no monthly fees. There are several “perks” for members, including a discounted price on the trips. Call for additional information.

There are a number of protection plans to meet your needs when you arrange your own travel and want a protection plan for the investment and for travel assistance. May 10, 2008 - PICKWICK LAKE CRIUSE

Cruise Pickwick Lake on the new Pickwick Belle sternwheeler. Dinner will be served in the enclosed lower deck. Depart from E. W. James parking lot in Waynesboro at 1:30 p.m., and Peoples Bank in Clifton at 2 p.m. Member’s cost is $80; guest’s cost is $85. Payment is due by April 1st. (A surprise stop is in the works!)


May 29, 2008 - MEMORIAL DAY OBSERVATION

To remember the U.S. men and women who have died in military service for our country, we will travel to Clarksville, TN. First stop will be historic Collinsville, a living history museum with costumed docents performing day-to-day tasks of the early 1800s. We will travel downtown for lunch (on your own) and a drive along the riverfront. At Fort Campbell, the famed 101st Airborne Division will present a demonstration of their training for us. This will be followed by an early dinner and a USO show of big band music and unabashed patriotism. Departure is from First Methodist Church parking lot in Savannah at 6:30 a.m.; E. W. James parking lot in Waynesboro at 7 a.m.; Peoples Bank in Clifton at 7:30 a.m. Cost for the day is $81 for members and $86 for guests. Payment is due by April 15th.


July 20-26, 2008 - MONTANA BIG SKY WESTERN ADVENTURE

Ride the Jammer Cars on the Highway to the Sun, experience an Amtrak train ride through the southern section of Glacier National Park and relax on a scenic float on the Middle Fork River, followed by a riverside steak barbeque. Other highlights include Helena, Gates of the Mountains Waterway, Seely/Swan Valley, Flathead Valley, Big Mountain, Kalispell/Conrad Mansion, a visit to the Hutterite Colony, and Soft River Rafting. Cost is $2,395 per person, based on double occupancy. The single supplement is an additional $598. Non-members pay an additional $50 guest fee. Final payment is due by April 11, 2008.


August 16, 2008 - NATURAL BRIDGE & TENNESSEE FITNESS SPA

Our group will have a “spa orientation,” including a lecture on nutrition/fitness, stretch class, explanation of the spa’s services and a gift bag, along with lunch and a walking tour of the grounds. You will walk under the Natural Bridge, enter the Ice Cave and hear the history of this jewel of Wayne County. We will meet at the Spa at 10 a.m. Directions can be provided if needed. The cost to have this unusual half-day adventure is $40 for members and $45 for guests. Payment is due July 14th. Dress comfortably and enter into a healthier lifestyle.


Sept. 29 - Oct. 3, 2008 - CAROLINA OUTER BANKS

We will travel the Appalachian Mountains to see the Old Salem Tavern, Winston-Salem, NC, Kitty Hawk, the Wright Brothers National Memorial, Nags Head, NC, Bodie Island Lighthouse, Lifesaving Station Museum, Hatteras Island Lighthouse, Ocracoke Island, Cedar Island, New Bern, NC, Tryon Palace, and enjoy a ghost tour of Columbia, SC. Costs for members are $1,044/single room; $839/double; $789/triple; and $749/quad. Guests pay an additional $25 per person. $50 deposits should be made as soon as possible. Final payment is due August 15th.


October 11, 2008 - GRAND OLE OPRY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

This trip promises the best-known performers, but will it ever be the same without Porter Wagoner in his glitzy outfits? We will have an early dinner at the Loveless Café. Departure times and price will be announced as soon as possible, but we already have quite a few signed up. Please call and reserve a seat!
